Appliance pickup

Appliance Removal

Request pickup of suitable unwanted appliances after the item type, condition, access, weight and location are reviewed.

What the service may include

Appliance pickup for suitable residential and commercial items

Appliance loads vary widely. Freestanding units are usually easier to assess than built-in or connected equipment, and some items may require special handling because of refrigerants, oil, batteries or unusual weight.

  • Refrigerators and freezers, subject to advance approval
  • Washers and dryers
  • Freestanding stoves and microwaves
  • Dishwashers that are already disconnected
  • Small household appliances
  • Selected commercial appliances after photo and weight review

Information needed for review

  • Photo of each appliance
  • Whether the item is disconnected and ready to move
  • Floor level, stairs and doorway width
  • Approximate carrying distance and parking location
  • Whether the item contains refrigerant, oil, batteries or other regulated components

Important: A2Z does not represent that every appliance is accepted. Utility disconnection, built-in removal, hazardous contents and regulated components must be handled before pickup unless separately confirmed.

Planning and access

Prepare appliances before the crew arrives

Remove food and personal contents, secure loose doors or drawers, and make sure water, gas and electrical connections are safely disconnected by an appropriate person. Do not move a heavy appliance onto stairs or an unsafe path simply to speed up pickup.

Common questions

Does A2Z disconnect appliances?

Do not assume utility disconnection is included. State whether the appliance is already disconnected and ready to move when requesting a quote.

Are refrigerators and freezers accepted?

They may be reviewed, but refrigerant-containing appliances require advance approval and may be subject to specific disposal arrangements.

Do stairs affect the quote?

Yes. Stairs, tight turns, elevators, carrying distance and appliance weight can affect labour and scheduling.

Where service may be available
